Celebrate Autumn at Local Fall Festivals

Autumn in Montgomery County is a time to get outdoors and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a beautiful fall day.   Luckily, your Canvas Valley Forge apartment is right near some of the county’s most popular fall festivals, which allow you to do all of those things—and promise fun for all ages! Many of the local festivals are authentically family-friendly: The grandkids can enjoy everything from pumpkin picking to hayrides, while the adults sample local food and drinks, shop and more.

Here’s a taste of the fall festivals that will be popping up near your Canvas Valley Forge apartment:

Upper Merion Community Fair & Fall Fest: This annual celebration will be held Oct. 6 at Heuser Park, three miles from your Canvas Valley Forge apartment. Kids will be busy with the pony rides, pumpkin patch, games and face painting, giving adults plenty of time to dive into the bake sale, artisan vendors and giveaways from community organizations and businesses.

Ambler Oktoberfest: The streets of Ambler, about 20 minutes from your Canvas Valley Forge apartment, will come to life Oct. 6 for the town’s annual Oktoberfest. The massive celebration features 90 vendors, 10 food trucks, a beer garden, kids’ activities, rides, live music and more. If the crowds on the main corridors get too packed, visitors can pop in and out of local shops and restaurants, most of which will be offering specials and sales for the occasion.

All Hallow’s Eve Fall Festival: This event at Pennypacker Mills is set for Oct. 20 at the historic site, about 25 minutes from your Canvas Valley Forge apartment. Pennypacker Mills was the former home of Pennsylvania Gov. Samuel Pennypacker in the early 1900s; while the house won’t be open for tours the day of the festival, visitors can explore the 170 acres of farmland, which provide a beautiful backdrop to the day’s events. History and Halloween will collide at the festival, which features vintage-themed activities, including apple-pressing and old-fashioned games.
