Where to Celebrate Spring in King of Prussia

After a long and cold winter, spring is just about upon us! This season more than ever, we all could use some flowers, greenery and sunshine. While it may take a few weeks for spring to have truly sprung, now is the perfect time to break your sneakers back in and take in the spring sights, sounds and smells in King of Prussia.

There are plenty of green spaces to do just that around your Canvas Valley Forge apartment, including Valley Forge National Historical Park. The park is as known for its expansive size as it is for its history—and both can make it the perfect spot to while away a beautiful spring day.

Valley Forge, 1.5 miles from your Canvas Valley Forge apartment, is home to more than 3,500 acres of parkland. Put on your walking shoes and take the paved trails for some spectacular views of the rolling hills of Valley Forge or venture off into more wooded pathways to challenge yourself even more. Bicycling, horseback riding and more are all welcomed within the park—so no matter how you want to get your spring exercise, you can get your heart pumping at Valley Forge.

As you take in the fresh air, you can also take in history. The park was the site of a winter encampment of Union troops, led by General George Washington, during the Revolutionary War. There are scores of tributes to this history throughout the park, including monuments, statues and info boards. Once the Visitor Center reopens, you can even see firsthand some of the artifacts researchers found at the park and tour Washington’s home during the encampment.

We’ve all been cooped up this winter, so now is the time to welcome back warmer weather and all the possibilities of spring, all safely and without traveling too far from your Canvas Valley Forge apartment.
