Tea Time
Residents, join us in the Canvas Room for Tea Time with Bryn Mawr Rehab.
In this interactive demonstration you will learn how to connect the benefits of growing plants in the garden through an introduction to Horticultural Therapy; discover timeless tea traditions; become mindful and watch an underwater floral bouquet unfurl in a glass ‘teaposy’ pot; and learn how ‘easy to grow’ mint, lavender, chamomile and over herbs can enhance your teas at home.
Presenter: Pam Young, Horticultural Therapist
In 2018, close to 3,000 patients participated in horticulture therapy sessions at Bryn Mawr Rehab. The center sees both inpatients and outpatients by appointment while also having an open-door policy. Adapted to each patient’s unique needs, therapy sessions might include watering plants to increase stamina or picking flowers to improve range of motion. Goal-oriented sessions take place in the activities center, the greenhouse, or outdoor enabling garden. All of these spaces were designed with purpose to enable interaction with the healing elements of nature.
